Pekanbaru, October 17th 2019 - SKK Migas - PT. Chevron Pacific Indonesia and the Riau Islamic University (UIR) are working together to build the first Migas Center in Riau. The place is located at the UIR Pekanbaru and will become an information center for oil and gas.
The cooperation was outlined in the Phase I Oil and Gas Development Cooperation Agreement signed by the UIR Rector Prof. Dr.H.Syafrinaldi SH., MCL and GM of CPI Sukamto Tamrin's Corporate Affairs Assets at the UIR Rectorate building, Wednesday (10/16).
The event was attended by the Chancellor of the Padang Panjang Indonesian Institute of Arts Prof. Dr. Novesar Jamarun, Head of the Public Relations Department of SKK Migas Sumbagut Evy Yanti, VP External Affairs of PT CPI Hasyim M. Nur and Chairperson of UIR Mukni Islamic Education Institution Foundation.
In his speech the Chancellor of UIR expressed his gratitude to PT CPI who always supported UIR.
"PT CPI was the first to assist in the formation of the Petroleum Engineering at UIR. Now PT CPI supports the construction of the UIR Oil and Gas Center, which is the largest in Indonesia," said Syafrinaldi.
UIR provides Oil and Gas Center space around 200 m2 located on the 1st floor of the Joint Office Building.
The Oil and Gas Center consists of the main room, reception, library, office, conference and meeting rooms, and presentation rooms.
The main room is equipped with a booth for PT CPI and SKK Migas which tells the activities of the upstream oil and gas industry ranging from seismic to lifting, as well as displays of petroleum, rock, fossil, mockups and others.
Evy Yanti, Head of the Public Relations Department of SKK Migas Sumbagut, said that the Oil and Gas Center will be established in 5 provinces, namely Riau Islamic University, Putra Batam University, North Sumatra University, Andalas University, West Sumatra and Syah Kuala Aceh University.
Beside as an oil and gas information center, the Oil and Gas Center will also hold educational activities for students and the community including visits, discussions, seminars or focus groups related to the oil and gas industry or other fields.
Hasyim M. Nur added that PT CPI's support was part of a social investment program in the field of Education.
Other fields which are the focus of PT. CPI is Health, Economic Improvement, and Environment and Biodiversity.
"PT CPI's other education programs in 2019 are Scholarships for students from the Sakai Tribe and the University Relationship Program to 4 leading universities in Riau, namely Petroleum Engineering, Riau Islamic University, Electrical Engineering, Lancang Kuning University, FMIPA Chemistry at the University of Muhammadiyah Riau and Chemical Engineering at the University of Riau, "concluded Hasyim.
