Rector of ITB Kadarsah Suryadi delivered the ITB awards to people and institutions that have an extraordinary contribution to the country development and ITB improvement (4/7).

Jakarta, Indonesia, 4 Juli 2018 – Chevron receives Ganesa Wirya Jasa Adiutama awards from Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) for Chevron’s contribution to the country development and ITB improvement. It was awarded by the Rector of ITB Kadarsah Suryadi during the 98th Anniversary of Technical School in Indonesia at ITB West Auditorium, Bandung on July 4, 2018.

The event is attended by ITB board of management and a number of high rank government officials such as Minister of National Development Planning Bambang S. Brodjonegoro and Minister of Research, Technology and Higher Education Mohammad Nasir.

“We appreciate the awards granted to Chevron. Through various social investment program in education, we collaborate with a lot of educational institutions to develop human resources in Indonesia. We believe, our University Partnership Program (UPP) with ITB will be strategic investments in the economic development of communities and the future of the energy business,” said Yanto Sianipar, Senior Vice President Policy, Government & Public Affairs Chevron IndoAsia Business Unit.

Ganesha Wirya Jasa Adiutama is the highest ITB awards, granted to people or institution that has an extraordinary contribution to national or international science and technology development, including contribution to ITB.

University Partnership Program (UPP) is one of Chevron social investment programs in education. This a global program initiated by Chevron Corporation, works with more than 100 college and university partners around the world to help attract and develop talented students and teachers who can help achieve a more technically proficient global workforce. UPP provides strategic and multifaceted support, which includes scholarships, grants, funding for faculty positions, department gifts and laboratory upgrades, and internship.

Since 2006, Chevron provided our UPP partners, Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) and the University of Gadjah Mada (UGM), with graduate fellowships, distance learning and internship programs. We have also improved their laboratory facilities and created a series of guest lecture from reputable university in the world.
