Fasilitas proyek injeksi air EOR di Lapangan Duri

Jakarta, Indonesia, Juli 2018 – Perusahaan penghasil minyak di dunia menerapkan teknologi Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) tingkat lanjut untuk meningkatkan produksi dan memperpanjang usia produktif lapangan-lapangan tua. Lapangan Duri yang dikelola oleh PT Chevron Pacific Indonesia (PT CPI) merupakan salah satu contoh terbaik.

Teknologi EOR tingkat lanjut ini mencakup injeksi gas, injeksi uap atau injeksi kimia ke reservoir di perut bumi untuk menarik lebih banyak minyak ke permukaan. Teknologi injeksi uap (steamflood) telah diterapkan di Lapangan Duri sejak 1985 untuk meningkatkan produksi minyak berat (heavy oil) dari lapangan tersebut. Proyek ini merupakan salah satu pengembangan injeksi uap terbesar di dunia.

Ilmy Razanindra, seorang ahli teknik perminyakan PT Chevron Pacific Indonesia (PT CPI) yang bekerja di proyek Duri menjelaskan bagaimana teknologi ini bekerja: “Minyak berat memiliki sifat kental dengan tingkat kepekatan sangat tinggi, sulit mengalir, sehingga sulit untuk diangkat,” kata Ilmy. “Di Duri, uap disuntikkan dekat dengan dasar reservoir melalui sumur injeksi. Uap air naik ke permukaan reservoir. Uap mengalirkan panas ke minyak berat dingin, mengurangi tingkat kekentalan sehingga minyak dapat lebih mudah bergerak untuk dialirkan ke sumur-sumur produksi,” imbuh ilmy.

PT CPI merupakan perusahaan pionir dalam penerapakanoperasi injeksi uap secara selamat dan efisien, yang telah membuat Lapangan Duri berhasil menghasilkan kinerja produksi lima kali lebih baik dibandingkan dengan penggunaan teknologi pengeboran konvensional. Teknologi EOR di Indonesia senantiasa berkembang menjadi lebih baik.

PT CPI memiliki akses terhadap teknologi dan kemampuan kelas dunia Chevron Corporation, yang merupakan perusahaan terdepan dalam penerapan teknologi EOR. Chevron memiliki sejarah panjang dalam penerapan lapangan EOR gas dan saat ini mengoperasikan proyek raksasa di Lapangan Tengiz di Kazakhstan, Lapangan Rangely di Colorado, proyek migas konvensional di Permian Basin di Texas, dan Lapangan Agbami di lepas pantai Nigeria.

Lapangan Kern River di California yang telah berusia 119 tahun telah mengimplementasikan teknologi steamflood sejak 1970an.
